The motivation for Birgit Nilsson Scholarship 2011

"Anneli Lindfors lyric-dramatic voice has a natural, warm, well-focused sound. She has an intelligent musicality combined with an obvious theatrical charisma. Her ability to create dedicated role figures coupled with a flexible vocal technique shows that she will master a wide repertoire in the future "

Jan Håkansson wrote on June 28:

“Anneli Lindfors, who only a few weeks ago performed her first Sieglinde in the Värmlands Opera production  Wagner’s Ring, demonstrated a lyric-dramatic soprano with obvious potential for challenging Wagner and Verdi passages, as evidenced here in convincing renderings of Elsa’s Dream from Lohengrin, and Leonora’s ‘Pace, pace’ from Forza del Destino – the latter often used by Birgit Nilsson as an encore.
The voice is warm and full, with a fine focus and expansive power, while at the same time harbouring qualities for the more intimate formats, as demonstrated here in some songs by Sibelius and Gösta Nyström, and, particularly, in Richard Strauss’s Cäcilie"
